I have been in enough rooms to know that the moments worth keeping are never the ones anyone planned. They happen in the space between everything else. The breath before the first dance. The way someone in the third row falls apart quietly while you hold it together. The look that passes between two people who have known each other their whole lives and know exactly what this day means.
The images that matter most are never the ones anyone asked for. They are the ones that happened while you were looking somewhere else. I learn what your day means to you before I ever pick up a camera and then I spend the whole day making sure none of it disappears.
A little about me
I'm William Field, a Washington, DC-based hybrid film and digital photographer and videographer with a passion for people, light, and the kind of moments that don't repeat themselves.
My love of photography started while I was traveling. I found myself reaching for my phone at every turn, documenting the people I met and the places I explored. Eventually, a phone camera wasn't enough. I bought my first professional camera, and I never looked back.
I married the love of my life in 2025, so I understand what it means to stand at the front of a room waiting for the person you love to walk toward you. I know what that day feels like and that's why I take this work seriously.

I am not chasing trends. I never have been. The images I make are built to outlast the year they were taken, the venue they were shot in, and every style that comes and goes between now and the day your grandchildren find them in a box somewhere.
I shoot on both hybrid film and digital because some moments deserve the warmth and grain that only film can give and others demand the precision that only digital can deliver. I use both intentionally. Every frame is composed with the understanding that light is not just something you work around. It is the difference between a photograph that looks like your wedding and one that feels like it.
